Why
First
Saturday?

Our Lady of Fatima asked us to make the First Saturday Communion of Reparation to Her Immaculate Heart. Her promise: "I promise to assist at the moment of death, with all the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months shall confess, receive Holy Communion, recite five decades of the Rosary, and *keep Me company for fifteen minutes while meditating on the fifteen mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to Me."

Fifteen minute meditation is performed following the recitation of the Rosary.

Why First Saturday Devotions:

According to the World Apostolate of Fatima, on July 13, 1917, Our Lady showed three children in Fatima, Portugal a vision of hell. She told them, "God wished to save souls from hell by means of establishing devotion to my immaculate heart." She spoke of war, famine, and persecutions of the Church and the Holy Father, which would occur if people did not stop offending God.

On December 10, 1925, Our Lady spoke these words to Sister Lucia, "I promise to assist at the hour of death, with the graces necessary for salvation, all those who, on the first Saturday of five consecutive months, shall confess; receive Holy Communion; recite five decades of the Rosary; and keep me company while meditating fifteen minutes on the mysteries of the Rosary, with the intention of making reparation to me."

On May 29-30, 1930, Our Lord appeared to Lucia and said, "The triumph of the Immaculate heart of Mary will not come to pass until sufficient number of us embrace the Message of Fatima and honor all of Our Lady's requests."
